How a Solar Power System Works

Solar panels(PV cells)

The process begins with the installation of solar panels on a suitable area within the housing society, such as rooftops or open spaces. These solar panels are equipped with photovoltaic (PV) cells, which are specially designed to capture sunlight and convert it into electrical energy.

Light-to-DC power conversion

When sunlight hits the solar panels, the PV cells absorb the light and energize electrons, creating direct current (DC) electricity. This DC power is low voltage, so it is sent to an inverter, which converts it into alternating current (AC) — the type of electricity used to power homes, businesses, and everyday appliances.

Solar Inverter

The electricity generated by solar panels is in the form of direct current (DC), which needs to be converted into alternating current (AC) for use in homes and businesses. This conversion is done by a solar inverter, which not only changes DC to AC but also optimizes power output for maximum efficiency.
The AC power produced by the solar inverter is then made available for use within the housing society. This electricity can be used to power various common area appliances and systems, such as lighting, elevators, pumps, and other shared facilities.
